One of MANY crabs we saw on the beach

The next door neighbor had about 15 cats which he would feed outside each evening. This brought out a large racoon and a fox... who decided to come over for some chicken.

OBX Vacation- part 1

At 3am last Saturday we loaded up the van and headed south to Outer Banks North Carolina. The kids did a great job on the 11 hour trip down and arrived ready to hit the beach! We stayed in a beautiful beach house in the quaint town of Duck and had a fantastic time! Here are some pics of our stay....

The house we stayed in...

The beach

Sitota's first impression of the beach (not happy)...
But after being buried in the sand so he couldn't crawl all over, he began to warm up to the whole idea, until...
dad took Sitota out to sit by the water and a huge wave came up over him and nearly washed him out to sea... then he was unhappy again.
But he liked the pool a lot better. Here he is kicking back and enjoying a nice sippy cup beverage.
The girls both loved the beach. It was a bit too rough for them to swim in, but there were many sandcastles to be made and shells to find.

Dancing Queen

On Friday the 19th, Isabel's dance studio had their yearly recital. She was so excited to have her Grandma and Grandpa Elliott, her Aunt Kristen and Uncle Raspberry (aka Edward Cullen), and Curtis & Carrie in the audience. They started out with the ballet portion of the show in a very cute princess theme. Each class was a princess, and Isabel got to be Cinderella.

Of course Sydney had to pose just like big sister.

After a short intermission the tap segment began. The kids were so cute, but if you have ever heard a bunch of 4-6 year olds tapping, synchronization would NOT be a word you would chose to describe it. It is more like a bunch of random noise, but they sure looked cute. The tap sessions where done to some cute Shirley Temple songs and Isabel's class in particular danced to " Old Straw Hat". Her straw hat didn't seem to cooperate and kept falling down over her eyes... but the show must go on! So like a trooper, she just ignored
it and kept on dancing!

Here she is before the show with Grandma and Grandpa in their best ballet position

Happy Birthday Little Man! Part 2- cake

In the evening the always loved Aunt Kristen came over for dinner followed by cake and presents with The Jacksons, The Gibbs, and of course Aunt Kristen.

Sitota opened up his presents with help from his big sisters.

He got a personal watermelon and "puffies" from Sam and Em... probably his favorite gifts (food!).

He opened a cute outfit and matching blanket from Grandma and Grandpa Hanschu and immediatley began playing a solo game of hide and seek/peek a boo with the blanket.

Then it was on to the cake.

I tried to move him close enough to the cake to take a picture of both he and the cake, but I failed to take into account his "go-go gadget" arms and this is what happened to the cake...

Finally, he gets his own piece of cake. Sitota eats anything... well almost. Not only does he eat extremely large quantities of food, but he eats any type of food. In fact, there have been only 1 or 2 things he has not liked out of hundreds of crazy foods he has tried. He had just finished dinner consisting of grilled salmon, spinach/strawberry salad, and party potato casserole before the cake. So who knew he wouldn't like chocolate cake? In fact, he HATED it! Just watch this and keep an eye on his expression!

Happy Birthday my Little Man! We love you!!!!
