fun with kenyans
As is often the case, I have highjacked my friend Emily's post to put on here. It's great having a personal photographer with you for nearly every fun event! Here are some pics of a cookout at our place in honor of our visiting Kenyan friends. Don't miss the second video of Syd and Sitota sledding with their Uncle Brian on a boogie board! : CLICK HERE FOR PICTURES
Life Happens
Well, it does. And around here, it happens pretty darn fast! It has been awhile (nice way of saying WAY too long) since I have posted. We have been busy living life. Isabel is enjoying first grade and taking tap and ballet. Sydney is my little helper at home and has been helping her brother learn all types of new things and has been playing on a soccer team and taking tumbling classes. Sitota is.... well, Sitota. He is a little bundle of cute energy. Unlike the girls, he has an uncontrollable desire to tinker with everything. I'm not sure my house is going to survive him. He spends his days tormenting his sisters, spilling things, and chasing the dog around. It amazes me to see how far he has come both physically and mentally in the last year. He is a very intelligent little man these days. And of course he loves to be the life of the party. His smile lights up a room and can melt even the coldest heart.
Aaron and I have kept busy with work (Aaron still at Grace, me still at the pharmacy) and travel. Aaron has been to Haiti and Mexico this past year. I just led a small team of 15 on a medical mission trip to Chichicastenango, Guatemala. We are currently building a team of 20 for a trip we are co-leading to Haiti in July. Aaron has started working out regularly... at 5am!? I have been working out all winter and have just started running again. I am such a fair weather runner :) I have recently picked up the guitar and am learning to play. It is going slower than I thought but I enjoy learning new things. We are gearing up for a great summer full of travel. In addition to Haiti we are going to visit relatives in Ohio, and heading for a two week long Florida vacation! I imagine this summer will be full of late nights on the patio by the fire pit with wine and smores.... so if you know where we live, come join us some night!
I guess thats all for now.
Peace.
Shelli
